Common questions
My prayer times don’t match my mosque.
Open Settings in the app and choose the Calculation Method your local mosque or authority follows (Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al‑Qura, Egyptian, Karachi and others), and the Asr method (Standard or Hanafi). This is the single biggest factor in matching your community’s times.
How accurate are the prayer times?
Times are computed with the standard astronomical sun‑position algorithm used by scholars, with high‑latitude correction so Fajr and Isha are never missing or wrong. They match established references to within about a minute.
The Qibla compass isn’t pointing correctly.
Move your phone in a figure‑8 to calibrate the compass, keep away from metal objects, magnets, and magnetic cases, and make sure Location is enabled in Settings → Qibla & Salah. The Qibla points to the Kaaba using your true heading.
Is the app really free? What are the tips?
Yes — Qibla & Salah is completely free and ad‑free, and every feature is free. Optional tips in Settings are simply a way to support development if you’d like to; they unlock nothing.
How do I add the widget and Live Activity?
Touch and hold your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap add, and choose a Qibla & Salah widget to see your next prayer at a glance. From the Prayers tab, tap Track on Lock Screen to start a Live Activity with a live countdown on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
What data does the app collect?
Your location is used only on your device to calculate prayer times and Qibla, and is never sent to us. The app uses anonymous Firebase Analytics (no advertising identifier) to understand which features are used. See the Privacy Policy for details.
