Summary
Your worship stays private. Your prayer times and Qibla direction are calculated on your iPhone or iPad from your location, and your location is never uploaded to us. To understand how the app is used and to improve it, Qibla & Salah uses Google Firebase Analytics, which collects anonymous usage data — things like when the app is opened and which features are used. We never collect your name, email, contacts, or your precise location.
What stays on your device
- Uses your location to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction entirely on your device. Your GPS location is never sent to us or to any server.
- Stores your settings (calculation method, Asr method, preferences) locally on the device. These are not uploaded anywhere.
- Shows widgets and a Live Activity that read your times from on‑device storage shared between the app and its widget.
- Schedules prayer notifications locally on your device.
Analytics we collect (Firebase)
Qibla & Salah uses Google Firebase Analytics, a third‑party service, to measure how many people use the app, whether they keep using it, and which features are popular. This helps us decide what to improve.
What is collected:
- Anonymous usage events — for example: the app being opened, completing onboarding, starting a Live Activity, or tapping a support tip.
- A randomly generated app‑instance identifier (not tied to your name or Apple ID).
- Basic device information: device model, iOS version, language, and an approximate location (city or region) derived from your IP address.
What is not collected: your name, email, phone number, or contacts; your precise GPS location; or any personal content. Qibla & Salah does not use Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA).
This anonymous data is processed by Google. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services. We use this data only to improve Qibla & Salah. We do not sell it or use it to show you ads.
Optional tips (In‑App Purchases)
Qibla & Salah is free, and every feature is free. If you choose to leave an optional tip to support development, the purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, card number, or any payment details — only Apple’s confirmation that a purchase was made. Tips unlock nothing; they simply help fund the app.
What Qibla & Salah does not do
- No accounts. There is no sign‑in.
- No advertising. The app contains no ads and does not share data with advertisers.
- No cross‑app tracking. We do not use the advertising identifier or link your data to your identity across other apps and websites (Apple’s App Tracking Transparency definition).
- We never collect or upload your precise location — prayer times and Qibla are calculated on your device.
System permissions Qibla & Salah requests
- Location (While Using the App) — to calculate your prayer times and Qibla direction on your device. Your location is not sent to us.
- Notifications — only if you enable prayer reminders, so the app can notify you at each prayer time.
Your choices
Because the analytics identifier is random and stored on your device, deleting and reinstalling Qibla & Salah resets it and starts a fresh, unlinked identifier. You can turn off location access at any time in Settings → Qibla & Salah (the app then can’t calculate your local times or Qibla).
Children
Qibla & Salah is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
