Nur is an app for learning to read Arabic. This page says exactly what it stores, what leaves your device, and what it never collects.

The short version. Nur has no account and no sign-in. Your voice recordings stay on your device and are never uploaded. Two things do go online, and both are described in full below: the advertising shown between practice games, and anonymous usage statistics about which lessons get finished — which you can switch off inside the app.
All of the following is stored only on your iPhone or iPad, in the app's own storage. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and the developer has no access to it.

Deleting the app removes all of it. You can also erase everything from inside the app at any time: Progress → Erase all progress, which deletes every recording, session and letter record from the device permanently.
Only so you can record yourself saying a letter and hear it back. Recording happens when you press the record button and at no other time. Nothing is uploaded, no speech recognition is performed, and the audio is never sent to the developer or to any third party. You can decline; the rest of the app works normally without it.
Optional, and off unless you turn them on. Nur can send a daily practice reminder and a weekly summary. These are scheduled locally on your device by iOS — there is no push server, and no notification content is sent over the internet.
This is asked on behalf of advertising, and is explained in the next section.
Nur is free, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. It is funded by occasional full-screen ads shown when a practice game ends. Ads never appear inside a lesson, and never while you are listening to, tracing or recording a letter.
Advertising is provided by Google AdMob. To select and measure ads, the AdMob SDK collects:
This data is collected by Google, not by the developer of Nur, and is used for advertising purposes including personalisation and measurement. It is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. Nur also uses Apple's SKAdNetwork, a privacy-preserving system that measures ad effectiveness without identifying you.
What is not shared with advertisers: your voice recordings, your learning progress, which letters you find difficult, and anything else the app stores. None of it is used to target ads, and none of it leaves your device.
Nur uses Mixpanel to count which parts of the course get finished, so the places where learners get stuck can be found and improved. This is separate from advertising: the two are never joined together, and nothing here is shared with any advertiser.
What is sent is three milestones, and that is the complete list:
What is never sent: your voice recordings, or any audio at all. No transcript. No name, email address or account — there is no account. Mixpanel does not use the iOS advertising identifier, and Nur sends it nothing that identifies you as a person. Events are counts and the names of curriculum items, so the question the data answers is “which lesson loses people”, never “who is this”.
Mixpanel receives the event, basic device information and your IP address, from which an approximate region may be inferred. Data is processed in the United States and handled under Mixpanel's Privacy Policy.
In the United Kingdom, the EEA and Switzerland, this is off until you turn it on. Nothing is collected unless you open Progress and switch on Share anonymous usage data.
Everywhere else it starts on, and the same switch turns it off. Either way, collection stops the moment you switch it off, nothing further is sent, and every part of the app keeps working exactly as before.
Nur teaches the Arabic script to learners of any age and is not directed to children. It is not published in the Kids Category, and Google's child-directed treatment is not enabled. If you are a parent and want a child to use Nur without personalised advertising, decline the tracking prompt when it appears, or switch Nur off under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Because nothing is collected by the developer, there is no account to close and no personal data held to hand over, correct or delete. Data stored on your device is yours: erase it in the app, or delete the app. For advertising data collected by Google, see Google's Privacy Policy, which describes the choices and rights available to you.
If Nur's data behaviour changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
