Common questions
How do I add a task?
Tap the add button, give the task a title, and pick a time of day. Optionally set a duration (for timed tasks) and a repeat rule — daily, weekdays, weekends, or weekly. The task appears on your timeline at that time.
How do habits and streaks work?
Give a task a repeat rule and it becomes a habit. Each day you complete it, your streak grows; miss a day and it resets. The daily progress ring shows how much of today you’ve completed at a glance.
How do reminders work?
Allow notifications when Dotty asks, and the app schedules a local reminder at each task’s scheduled time, repeating according to the task’s repeat rule. If you don’t want reminders, simply decline the notifications permission.
How do I use the widget and Live Activities?
Add the Dotty widget to your Home Screen to see and check off tasks without opening the app. For a task with a duration, starting it shows a Live Activity countdown on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
How does iCloud sync work?
iCloud sync is part of Dotty Pro. Once enabled, your tasks stay in sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac through your own private iCloud. After you upgrade, Dotty asks you to relaunch so sync turns on. Your data stays in your private iCloud account — the developer has no access to it.
What is Dotty Pro, and how do I restore it?
Dotty Pro is a single one‑time purchase (no subscription) that unlocks unlimited tasks, iCloud sync, Live Activities & Dynamic Island, the full color and icon palette, and the Glass appearance. If you reinstall or switch devices, use Restore Purchases on the upgrade screen to get Pro back at no charge.
Where is my data stored?
Everything is stored on your device, and — if you enable iCloud sync — in your own private iCloud. Dotty uses no developer accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. See the Privacy Policy for details.
