Summary
Dotty does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information with the developer or any third party. Your tasks, habits, and settings live on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, that data syncs only through your own private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit — the developer has no servers and no access to it.
What Dotty stores on your device
- Your tasks and habits (titles, times, durations, repeat rules), their per‑day completion, and your streaks.
- Your preferences, such as appearance (Light, Dark, Glass), colors, and icons.
- A small snapshot of your timeline shared on‑device between the app, its Home Screen widget, and Live Activities, so they can show your current tasks.
iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync (part of Dotty Pro), Dotty uses Apple’s CloudKit to keep your tasks in sync across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your data is stored in the private database of your personal iCloud account, tied to your Apple ID. This means:
- The data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your iCloud settings.
- The developer cannot read, access, or retrieve your private iCloud data — there are no developer servers involved.
- You can turn iCloud sync off at any time, or disable iCloud for Dotty in your device’s Settings.
What Dotty does not do
- No developer accounts. There is no sign‑in to Dotty.
- No analytics. We do not use any third‑party analytics SDK.
- No tracking. Dotty does not link any data to your identity or use it for tracking across apps and websites (Apple’s App Tracking Transparency definitions).
- No advertising. Dotty contains no ads and does not share data with advertisers.
- No selling or sharing of your data with third parties.
System permissions Dotty requests
- Notifications — only if you allow them, so Dotty can show a local reminder at each task’s scheduled time. These reminders are scheduled on your device; no notification data is sent to a server.
Purchases
Dotty offers a one‑time in‑app purchase, Dotty Pro. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Dotty does not receive or store your payment information; your purchase is handled under Apple’s privacy policy.
Children
Dotty is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in any material way, the updated version will appear here with a new “Last updated” date.
