Summary
Istighfar does not collect, transmit, sell, share, or store any personal information on any server. Everything happens on your iPhone or iPad. The app has no network connection.
What Istighfar does on your device
- Counts your dhikr by tap, or hands‑free using Apple’s on‑device Speech framework to detect phrases like “Astaghfirullah.” Audio is processed on device and is not sent to any server.
- Stores your counts, custom dhikr, and theme preferences locally on the device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
- Shows a Live Activity and widgets that read your current count from on‑device storage shared between the app and its widget.
What Istighfar does not do
- No accounts. There is no sign‑in.
- No analytics. We do not use any third‑party analytics SDK.
- No tracking. Istighfar does not link any data to your identity or use it for tracking across apps and websites (Apple’s App Tracking Transparency definitions).
- No cloud sync and no network. No data is sent to our servers because there are no servers.
- No advertising. Istighfar contains no ads and does not share data with advertisers.
System permissions Istighfar requests
- Microphone — only if you use voice counting, to capture your voice for on‑device recognition.
- Speech recognition — only if you use voice counting, to turn audio into text on device so the app can count your dhikr.
If you only count by tapping, Istighfar never asks for these permissions.
Children
Istighfar is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
